Ann Macdonald (1853-1916) was a daughter of James Macdonald and Isabella Mackenzie, 9 Habost.
In Lochs, in 1876, she married Duncan Morrison, 4 Arivruach. Ann and Duncan lived with Ann’s Aunt Sophia at 1 Balallan and they had nine children. The croft was left to Ann.
On the night of 17 October 1887, at 3.00am, there was a fire at 1 Balallan, resulting in the house being burnt to the ground. The family only just escaped with their lives.
