121066: John Anderson

John Anderson (born 1892) was the eldest son of Mr Anderson and Mary Macleod, Glasgow, ex 5 Kershader.

During his childhood John and his two brothers came to live with his Uncle, Donald Macleod, 5 Kershader. The boys attended Kershader School.

He served in the Mercantile Marine during the First World War. He was the Mate of a ship which hit a mine off the Butt of Lewis. John in mentioned in  Loyal Lewis: Roll of Honour 1914-18.
