Alexander (1846-1883) was a son of John MacLeod and Margaret MacIver of 27 South Shawbost. In 1869 in Carloway, Alexander married Janet MacAulay of 49 North Shawbost; the couple settled at 27 South Shawbost and had eight children. Alexander inherited 27 South Shawbost.
