120756: Joan Nicolson
Joan Nicolson (1935 -2021) was a daughter of Isabella Nicolson, 8 Keose Glebe. She started nursing in Stobhill Hospital, Glasgow in 1952. She nursed in Sick Children's, Stobhill as well as General Wards, in Surgical Ward at the Royal Infirmary and also became Sister in a female Medical Ward.
In Lochs, in 1961, she married Murdo Mackinnon from 11 Habost. They had three children. On their return to Lewis she nursed in the Lewis Hospital.
Joan was widowed in 1980 and at Inverness, in 1985, she married widower Roderick Macleod Mackenzie, The Cottage, Gravir. The couple lived at 11 Habost.
