Alexander (born 1896) was a son of Angus Mackay and Christina Mackay, 3 Habost.
On April 13, 1916 he enrolled in the Royal Naval Reserve Service Number DA10942. His record indicates that he was 5ft 10in tall with grey eyes and a pale complexion. Alexander was immediately Mobilised and served in the Royal Navy in the First World War. Based at HMS Iolaire and aboard HMS Dreel Castle. He received £18.15/- in Prize Money and his name is mentioned in Loyal Lewis: Roll of Honour 1914-1918.
Alexander was a Police Inspector and settled in Luss.
