11796: John Macnaughton
John (1836-1913) was the son of John Macnaughton and Catherine Macdonald.
In 1864 John married Ann Macdonald of Tobson; the couple had eight children.
When Kirkibost was re-settled in 1878 Donald Smith from Bosta was allocated number 23. He was an old man who couldn’t break in a new croft, so he swapped with John Macnaughton of 9 Breaclete.
