George Paterson (1890-1973) was the son of Donald Ivor Paterson and Catherine Bethune, and was born in Cape Breton.
George collected information in Cape Breton about people who had emigrated from Berneray. He visited Berneray in 1919.
He researched the short unpublished monograph, A history of early settlers of Cape Breton, which can be obtained from the Cape Breton Genealogy and Historical Association.
