117167: Archie Morrison

Archie, born 1835, was the son of John Morrison and Flora Paterson of Borve. The site of their home was later known as Tobhta Fhionnghala ni’ Shomhairle. In 1851 Archie was working as a farm servant for Malcolm MacCusbic. He emigrated to Australia with his widowed mother and siblings in 1855, sailing on the Royal Albert. There he married Janet MacInnes, who had emigrated to Australia from North Uist.
