Janet, born 1831, was the daughter of John Morrison and Flora Paterson of Borve. The site of their home was later known as Tobhta Fhionnghala ni' Shomhairle. Jane emigrated to Australia with her widowed mother and siblings in 1855, sailing on the Royal Albert.

Note: the HIES records are rather confusing. It may be that Janet is the same individual as sister Jane, who emigrated with her husband Roderick.
