Alexander, born 1843, was the younger son of that name born to Norman Paterson and Ann MacLeod of Borve. Their home was probably at the site known as Tobhta Thormoid ‘ic Shomhairle. In 1854, with the clearance of the crofts for Borve Farm, the family was moved to Meavaig South. Later they settled at 18 Strond. Alexander married Peggy MacMillan of Rodel. They made their home at 20 Strond.
