Mary (1927-2017) was from Sheader, Uig, Isle of Skye. She trained as a general nurse and midwife in Edinburgh. She worked at the Deaconess Hospital, Simpson Memorial Maternity and the Royal Infirmary. She relocated to London, working as a theatre sister before returning to Edinburgh to get married.

Mary married Colin Maclean, 8 Timsgarry and they had a son and two daughters. Colin’s ministry took the family to many places at home and abroad.
