John Buchanan
John Buchanan
John (1895-1932) was a son of Malcolm Buchanan and Margaret Maciver, 14 Brenish.
He served in the Royal Naval Reserve (RNR) during the First World War and was captured by the Germans at Antwerp in 1914. For the rest of the war he was a prisoner in Germany. John was a recipient of the Mons Star and a record for him can be found in the Roll of Honour 1914-1918.
John married Dorothy Buchanan, 27 Brenish and they lived at 14 Brenish. They had three children, the youngest born a few months after John drowned on the fishing vessel, The Margaret, which was lost at Mealista Island on 12.3.1932.
