Norman (1827-1910) was a son of Malcolm Buchanan and Christina Macaulay, 10 Old Brenish. He relocated with his family to 6 Brenish in 1849.
Norman married Flora Mackay, 8 Brenish and they lived as cottars on 6 Brenish. They had six children. They relocated for a time to Kinchusil and returned to Brenish in the 1860s when Norman obtained part of croft 9 Brenish and later the whole croft.
