116006: Mary Mackenzie
Mary (1813-1889) was a daughter of Donald Mackenzie and Catherine Macdonald, Lionel, Ness. She married Norman Thomson, 29/30 Habost, Ness and they lived for a time after their marriage at Lionel. In 1840, they moved to a new croft at 3 Laxdale Lane, Stornoway.
The couple had ten children: 1. Margaret 1831 Mrs Alexander Macdonald, 17 Laxdale 2.Anne 1835, 3. John 1839 Business Man in New Zealan, 4. Catherine 1840 Mrs Alexander Nicolson, 2,Guershader, 5. Norman 1843 married in New Zealand, 6. Henrietta 1850 Mrs John Reid, 40 Newmarket, 7. James 1852 died young, 7.Donald 1854 Bachelor, 8. Janet 1858 Mrs Donald Maclean, Stornoway and inherited the croft at 3 Laxdale Lane.
