Ann (1850-1934) was a daughter of John Mitchell and his first wife Janet Macleod, Timsgarry Farm. She emigrated to Australia on the Star of India arriving in Sydney on 16.06.1876, and after travelling to the town of Gundagai, she married Alexander Mackenzie from Gairloch on 30.06.1876.

Ann and Alexander had three sons and three daughters. Their oldest son, Alexander Murdoch, was killed in France during the First World War on 19.05.1917 and buried in Bullecourt, France. Alexander's grandnephew who has sent this information visited his grave on the 100 year anniversary.
