Neil Macdonald
Neil Macdonald (1885-1956) was a son of Alexander Macdonald and Isabella Macdonald, 9 Habost. The family later moved to 1 Habost.
In Stornoway, in 1914, he married Alexina Smith, 2 Balallan. Neil and Alexina settled at 9 Habost and they had four children.
On September 26, 1918 he enrolled with the Royal Naval Reserve Service Number DA22175. His record indicates that he was 5 ft 6 in tall with blue eyes and a fresh complexion. He was immediately Mobilised and served in the Royal Navy in the last year of the First World War based at HMS Pembroke and HMS Gunner. He is mentioned in Loyal Lewis: Roll of Honour 1914-1918.
