115246: Marion MacLeod
Marion, born 1825, was the daughter of John and Catherine MacLeod of Pabbay. By 1851 the family was living in Borve, Berneray. In 1854, with the clearance of crofts to make way for Borve Farm, the family became cottars, emigrating to Australia on the Royal Albert in 1855.
Marion had three husbands. The first was Captain William J Chace, whom she married in 1858. Together they had six children. Following William’s death Marion married Alexander Lowe in 1881. Her third husband was Ebenezer Moyes, whom she married in 1890.
