Donald John Macleod (born 1900) was a son of Murdo Macleod and Chirsty Mckenzie, 11 Habost.

He enrolled in the Royal Naval Reserve, Service Number DA21013, on July 30, 1918. His record indicated that he was 5ft 9in with light blue eyes and a pale complexion.  Donald John  was immediately Mobilised and served in the Royal Navy in the First World War until February 1919. Based at HMS Pembroke and aboard HMS Attentive. His name is mentioned in Loyal Lewis: Roll of Honour 1914-1918.

In 1921 he moved to 33 Phoenix Park Terrace, Glasgow.
