Anne Mhurchaidh Harraidh

Anne (1959-1989) was the daughter of Murdo Morrison and his wife from Tong, Lewis.

She attended Sabhal Mòr Ostaig: a Gaelic college.

In 1986 she married a lawyer, from Inverness, and settled in Portree, Skye; they had two children: a daughter and a son.

In 1989 Anne died, at the age of 29, saving her two children from a car fire in Inverness. 

After her death, Sabhal Mòr Ostaig introduced an ‘Anne Duncan Memorial’ prize (Duncan was her married name) which is still presented to the student who contributes the most to the aims and standing of the College.
