113714: Mary MacLennan
Mary MacLennan was the wife of John MacPhail of North Uist, with whom she had at least seven children. Mary moved to Ruisgarry by 1818 where she, as a widow, shared a croft with her son Donald, paying annual rent of £6.12.6. Her children and maybe Mary herself all emigrated to Upper River Denys, Cape Breton during the late 1820s.
The names of John’s and Mary’s two daughters are unknown; one married a Morrison and the other a Lamond. More information about the family can be found on a website detailing the history of Inverness County.
