Donald MacDonald, born 1790, married Mary MacAskill of Ruisgarry. Their eldest son Peter was born in Taransay in 1825, following which the family was moved to Seilebost, then Borve, Berneray, where they were living in 1841. During the 1840s they returned to Harris, living at Kendebig.
