Helen, born 1811, was the daughter of Roderick MacAskill and Mary Ferguson of Ruisgarry. Helen married James MacLeod of Ruisgarry, with whom she was to have five children. They lived in Ruisgarry with James’s mother, emigrating with her to Framboise, Cape Breton during the 1840s.
