Roderick, born 1800, was the son of Archibald Morrison and Mary MacAskill of Pol an Òir. The family lived at a site later known as Tobhta Ghilleasbuig Ghobha. Roderick married Mary Morrison of 7 Orasay. Together they were to have five children, living in Borve. In 1854, with the clearance of crofts to create Borve Farm, the family was moved to Scotasay. By 1870, Roderick, known as Am Bodach, and his family were moved to 2 Ardslave.
