112872: Donald Ferguson
Donald (1791-1875) was a son of Donald Ferguson and Catherine MacLeod of Ruisgarry. Like his father, Donald became a farmer in Ruisgarry, paying £5.17.6 annual rent for his croft in 1830. Donald married Una MacDonald, with whom he was to have nine children. About 1845, with the re-organisation of Ruisgarry’s crofts into larger plots, the family emigrated to Grand River, Cape Breton. Donald died at St Esprit in 1875.
