Isabella MacAskill

Isabella MacAskill

Isabella MacAskill, born about 1801, was the daughter of Neil MacAskill and Mary MacRailt of Borve and Ruisgarry.  She married farmer and cottar Malcolm MacLeod and they lived in Ruisgarry until his death in about 1845. At the same time Ruisgarry’s many small crofts were being reorganised, and Isabella moved with her parents to Obbe, where she earned a living spinning wool. Isabella passed away in Ruisgarry in 1861.
