Margaret from a farming family in Renfrewshire met and married Kenneth Bethune, Leith, Midlothian, when he was a minister in a church in Paisley, where she was the organist. They moved to Glasgow where Kenneth continued his ministry, until they retired to Edinburgh. They had no family.
