Margaret (born 1841) was the daughter of Alexander Martin and Mary Macrae, of 8 Old North Tolsta.

Margaret's family emigrated to the Eastern Townships of Quebec prior to her birth. Margaret was born on the ship, the day before it docked in Canada.

Margaret married Donald Stewart Macleod, of Quebec. Donald had connections to Galson, but it is not certain he ever lived there himself.
