Angus was the first son of John Maciver and Ann Maciver, Balnicol. He moved with his family to Erista before settling at 10 Crowlista. He married Janet Macleod, 13 Crowlista and they settled at 10 Crowlista. They had three sons and three daughters.

 Angus built the lower house at number 10.
