Christina was a daughter of John Macdonald and Marion Martin, 18 Crowlista. She married Angus Macleod, 10 Brenish and they lived at 18 Crowlista in her father's household. When her Uncle Norman died the family moved to his house at number 8 and Angus assumed tenancy of the croft.

Christina and Angus had three sons and three daughters. They also had a son Johnnie who died in infancy of pneumonia. His sister Johanna was called after him.
