108776: Ranald MacRuairi

Ranald (d 1346) Raghnall Fionnwas the son of Ruairi, Chief of the Clan Ruairi. The clan’s lands of Uist, Barra, Eigg and Rum and Garmoran had been confiscated from his father in 1325, but were reinstated to Raghnall Fionn, probably by Edward Balliol. The reinstatement was confirmed by King David II in 1343. Raghnall Fionn re-confirmed the grant that his aunt Christina had made of Teampall na Trianaid to Inchaffray Abbey.

However in 1346 Raghnall Fionn, Chief of the Clan Ruairi, was slain by the Earl of Ross, leaving his sister Amy as heiress.
