108745: Allan MacRuairi

Allan, son of Ruairi, was probably born during the early 13th century. Allan assumed the sole lordship of Garmoran and the North Isles (Uist and Benbecula) following his brother’s death in 1268. About 1285 he ‘committed an act of piracy on a Spanish ship with a valuable cargo, which was driven ashore on the Outer Hebrides’.

Amongst his children were his legitimate daughter Christina and illegitimate son Ruairi.
