Mary MacCusbic, born about 1840, was the daughter of Donald MacCusbic and his wife Effie, of old Borve.

In 1854 the tenants in Borve were cleared from their land in order to make way for Borve Farm. Mary emigrated to Australia with her parents, leaving Plymouth on the Royal Albert on 15^th August 1855.
