106817: John MacLeod
John, born 1798, was the son of Angus MacLeod and Janet MacDermid of old Borve. In 1825 he had a son, Norman, with neighbour Effie MacLeod. By 1831 he had married Ann MacKinnon, with whom he was to have eight children. In 1841 they were living in old Ruisgarry, where John was a farmer. With the re-organisation of Ruisgarry the family was moved to 6 Kyles Scalpay in about 1845.
