106717: Kate Shaw

Kate, born 1918, was the daughter of Malcolm Shaw and Margaret MacAskill of Backhill. Her father died fifteen months after her birth. Along with her half-sister and mother, Kate continued to live at Backhill for several years, with the girls attending Berneray School. Kate, having started school in 1923, stayed until 1928, when she and her mother moved to Inverness.

Kate later married Norman Macdonald of Portree, with whom she had two sons.
