Donald, born 1805, was the son of Kenneth MacKinnon of Seilebost. Donald married Christina MacAskill of Borve, Berneray, with whom he was to have at least seven children. At the time of the 1841 census the family was living in Borve, moving to Deiraclete during the 1840s and later to 11 Cluer.
