James (born 1910) was a nephew of Neil Mackay, 4 Timsgarry and lived there. He served in the Merchant Navy during the Second World War and a record for him can be found in the Roll of Honour 1939-1945.

He was married to Dolina Macdonald, 8 Ardroil. They lived in Clydebank and had no family.
