Marion MacKillop was born in 1904, the eldest child of Allan MacKillop and Marion MacKillop of 2 Borve. The family moved to Càrn House, Rhuvanish in 1908, and Marion started attending Berneray School two years later.
In 1925 the family moved again, to 6 Lochportain. Marion married Roderick MacKay of 1 Cheesebay. They settled in Lochportain with their six children.
