105119: Angus MacCuish

Angus, born about 1799, was the son of Norman MacCuish and Flora MacLeod of Drimophuind, Northton and Strond, Harris, then old Borve, Berneray.

Angus married Catherine Paterson of Strond, with whom he had at least nine children. Angus, like his father, became a tenant farmer in old Borve. However, in 1854 the tenants in Borve were cleared from their land in order to make way for Borve Farm. Angus and his family became cottars in Backhill, with Angus working as a farm servant.
