Duncan, (1825-1899), was a son of John Mackay and Catherine Macinnes, 1 Old Achmore and latterly 3 Achmore. Duncan married Janet Mackenzie from 20 Garrabost. After the death of Duncan’s father, croft 3 Achmore was split, Duncan took over 3a. The couple settled there and had 8 children.
