101560: Donald Maciver

Donald (1806-1887) was the son of Angus Maciver and Mary Macleod of Uig. He may have been born at Balnicol or Baile na Cille. He married twice. His first wife was Mary Morrison from Hamnaway, Uig, and he moved with her and their family from Uig to the Carloway area. He is listed in the 1841 Census as living in Dalmore, and then at Laimishader in the 1851 Census, but later moved to 24/25 Upper Carloway. His second wife was Catherine Macphail of 6/8 Knock Carloway. 

On Donald’s death, the croft was split between his widow Catherine at 25 Upper Carloway, and his son Angus at 24 Upper Carloway.
