23317: Royal Army Service Corps (RASC)

The duty of the Royal Army Service Corps (RASC) was to supply food, ammunition and petrol to the front line, including during the First and Second World Wars.

The Army Service Corps (ASC) was formed in 1888 from earlier logistical units, with ‘Royal’ added to the title in late 1918. In 1965 the RASC merged with the Transportation and Movements Control Service of the Royal Engineers, becoming the Royal Corps of Transport.
