110610: 1st (Royal) Dragoons

This mounted regiment was originally raised in 1661, and was titled 1st (Royal) Dragoons between 1877 and 1921.

The regiment has had several similar titles since its early name of Tangier Horse. In 1969 the regiment combined with the Royal Horse Guards to become the Blues and Royals (Royal Horse Guards and 1st Dragoons).

Note: The 1st (Royal Dragoons) is distinct from various regiments of Dragoon Guards.
