38899: Traigh nan Sruban, Uig, Lewis

This is a long shallow bay between Crowlista and Baile na Cille; the name means ‘cockle-sands’. At one time the usual route from Crowlista to other parts of Uig (and not least to catch the bus which ended its run at Baile na Cille) was straight across the narrow sands.

There are several sites of interest at the head of this bay.
