Isle of Islay
Isle of Islay
Islay is the southernmost of the Inner Hebrides and the fifth largest Scottish island, with a total area of more than 600 square kilometres. It was at one time the home of the Lordship of the Isles. The population peaked in the mid 19th century and subsequently declined, in part due to forced evictions.
