Greenock, Renfrewshire

Located on the south bank of the River Clyde in the historical county of Renfrewshire, Greenock was a fishing village prior to 1592. It gradually developed into the main port of the west coast of Scotland. The town declined after the Second World War with the loss of its substantial heavy industry. It is now in the process of redevelopment.
