117478: Shensker, Sound of Harris

There is a large rock, Clach Mhòr, situated on the island of Shensker or Seann Sgeir. A dead whale was discovered washed up on the island in 1711. A few years later a hogshead of wine was found and sent to Skye.

Note: the island’s name is shown as Sheamsgeir on recent Ordnance Survey maps, despite being Sheansgeir on the 1st Edition.
