105643: Old Mid Borve, Lewis

On this website, the settlement of Old Mid Borve refers to the nine crofts located within High Borve Tack prior to 1853. In 1853, these crofts were cleared and most of the tenants moved to Shader. The land was part of Galson Farm until 1863, when it was removed from the farm and added to the crofts in High Borve. During that period, High Borve was sometimes referred to as Mid Borve.
