Full description:

A foot-shaped recess in a near-vertical rock face by the roadside at the junction approaching Kirkibost quay. The recess resembles a perfect right foot with big toe and other toes, probably 20 – 30mm deep. The adjacent rock face has a narrower natural indentation at the same angle. The ‘footprint’ may be completely natural, or may be an artificially enhanced natural feature, but has long been regarded as a footprint in local tradition.
