76903: ‘House 75’ Ferry

This cottar’s house was the home of ferryman Norman MacAskill and his family from the 1880s. When he obtained 23 Borve in 1900, his son Donald was passed the property, and subsequently it passed to Donald’s son John. 

This property is referred to as ‘house no 75’ Port (in English, Ferry) in the croft history of the area.
