Originally 'house 71', as it is referred to in the croft history of the area, was attached to 'house 69' with both houses owned by Kenneth Morrison. Kenneth gifted the use of the building to widow Peggy Ann MacKillop (née MacLeod) in about 1930. It later passed to her son Norman, who demolished it, rebuilding it as Ferry Cottage in the 1970s or 1980s.
